23/24 Occupational Therapist in Manteno, IL

Our school in Fillmore, CA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team for the 23/24 school year. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with students, teachers, and other school personnel to provide services that help students achieve their academic goals. • Part Time Hours: 2 days per week
• August 3, 2023 - June 6, 2024
• 6th-12th Grade Caseload
• Assisting at a Therapeutic day school
• Onsite
• Interviewing Now

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess students’ functional abilities related to school performance and participation
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the identified needs of each student
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support the academic progress and functional performance of students
• Provide direct intervention to students individually or in small groups to improve fine motor skills, handwriting, visual perceptual skills, self-regulation, and sensory processing
• Use evidence-based practices and assistive technology to enhance students’ ability to participate in daily school activities
• Document and maintain accurate records of evaluation results, progress reports, and treatment plans
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Illinois 
• Experience working in a school setting preferred
• Sensory experience required
• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to education and disability services, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
