New School Year Occupational Therapist Job | Carson City, Nevada
ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist this upcoming school year for a part-time, full school year contract position located in Nevada.
Job Description:
- Full-time hours
- 32.5 to 37.5 hours
- K12 Caseload

- Collaborate with staff in general education classrooms
- Providing a range of direct to indirect therapy services to students in special education
Job Duties:
i. Respond to requests for services and screenings for individuals to determine need for possible referral and intervention.
ii. Gather and interpret data to evaluate student needs as a basis for treatment planning.
iii. Interpret evaluation findings to parents and instructional teams while participating in the development of Individual Education Programs (IEP’s).
iv. Monitors student response to intervention and modifies strategies as indicate to attain goals.
v. Develops intervention plans including measurable goals and objectives with strategies for meeting them.
vi. Coordinate intervention plans with parents and other members of the instructional team, specifically focusing on sensory or fine motor-based interventions.
vii. Develop appropriate home or community programming to enhance the performance of students within their natural environments.
viii. Recommend termination of services once Educational Benefit has been achieved.
ix. Conduct and document evaluation results, treatment and follow-up.
x. Collaborate with Director of Special Education in developing recommendations for protocol and procedures for Occupational Therapy.
xi. Assist in developing transition plans for students moving to other environments.
xii. Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed.
xiii. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
xiv. Coordinate with outside agencies outside occupational therapy programming for students.
xv. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community.
xvi. Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification in CPI as applicable, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, SELPA trainings, and/or other trainings provided by ICEF.
xvii. Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data.
xviii. Participate in building or program activities and meetings.
xix. Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Must have completed a baccalaureate or higher degree program in occupational therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association-approved program.
- Appropriate New Jersey State ESA certification is required and must be on file prior to beginning work.
- New Jersey OT license is required and must be on file prior to beginning work.
