Job Description:

As a School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with students in a school setting to help them develop and enhance their motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
  • Providing direct therapy services to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Conducting assessments and documenting student progress
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' needs
  • Incorporating therapeutic activities and exercises into classroom routines
  • Educating and guiding teachers and parents on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals

Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
  • Experience working in a school or pediatric setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
  • Ability to adapt and modify therapy approaches based on individual student needs
  • Empathy and patience in working with children of diverse abilities
