A school district in the Buckeye, AZ area is currently seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join their team for the upcoming school year. The COTA will work under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) or supervisor onsite. Their main responsibilities will involve evaluating and diagnosing various intellectual disorders. Additionally, the COTA will collaborate with the director supervisor to develop intervention and treatment plans tailored to each individual. The caseload will be determined accordingly, and the director is actively reviewing backgrounds and conducting interviews for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and treating intellectual disorders.
  • Performing screenings to assess the needs of students.
  • Educating patients and their families about disorders and their causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
  • Maintaining detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) setting.
  • Preference for candidates with prior experience in a school environment.

Education:

  • Must hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid COTA certification license is required.
