Job Description:

As a School Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' physical, sensory, and cognitive development. You will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their maximum potential. Collaboration with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals is an essential component of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, including interventions, activities, and adaptations
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into the academic curriculum
• Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' goals and objectives
• Provide guidance and training to teachers and staff regarding strategies for fostering students' independence and functional skills
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in occupational therapy practices and interventions
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes

Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
