Responsibilities:
As a School Occupational Therapist (OT), you will play a crucial role in supporting students' functional development and participation in educational activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs.
- Providing direct intervention and therapeutic activities to improve students' functional abilities.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to student support.
- Modifying classroom environments and providing assistive technology recommendations.
- Monitoring students' progress and adjusting therapy goals as needed.
- Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and providing input for goal development.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Georgia.
- Experience working with school-aged children is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
