Qualifications and Experience:
- Active COTA licensure in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to implement IEP goals and treatment activities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Organized and adaptable with excellent time management abilities
- Proficiency in documentation and maintaining accurate records
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational staff to support students’ educational and developmental goals
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of classroom materials and environments to support student participation
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress, communicating updates with relevant team members
- Support classroom inclusion initiatives and actively participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies and standards of ethical practice
