Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Connecticut license/certification as a COTA (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam passed) or active OT license
- Prior experience in school-based therapy preferred
- Familiarity working with a broad age range, from early learners to high school students
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and confidentiality
- Reliable transportation is essential for daily onsite responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other specialists to facilitate students’ participation in school activities
- Document evaluations, treatment progress, and communication with families in accordance with district requirements
- Adapt therapy strategies and materials to meet diverse student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning for student interventions
- Engage in ongoing learning to enhance therapeutic practices and stay current with best practices in school-based OT
