Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active COTA licensure in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and adapting activities for diverse student needs
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy interventions in accordance with student IEP goals, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support students’ development of fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills to maximize participation in academic and daily life tasks
- Contribute to evaluations and assist with documenting student progress
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, families, and support staff
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and culturally sensitive learning environment
- Manage scheduling and caseload documentation efficiently
