Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California
- Previous experience providing occupational therapy services in a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation requirements
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of a diverse student population
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT, in accordance with students’ IEP goals
- Implement therapeutic activities to promote fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills
- Document progress, maintain timely records, and provide input for student evaluations and goal planning
- Communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure therapy strategies support educational objectives
- Assist with developing and modifying classroom strategies and accommodations to enhance student participation
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and relevant trainings as needed
