Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the upcoming school year. As a valued member of the educational team, you’ll collaborate with occupational therapists and special education staff to support children’s learning and independence in a school-based setting. This assignment is scheduled from August 3, 2026, to November 20, 2026, with the possibility of an extension through the winter break. The position offers consistent weekday hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Key Qualifications:
- Active COTA licensure required for the state of California
- Experience in school settings or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Strong ability to implement therapeutic interventions under direction of an OT
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to legal and ethical standards
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy support to students according to IEP/504 plans
- Implement activities that build fine and gross motor skills, sensory regulation, and functional independence in the school environment
- Work closely with classroom teachers and related service providers to adapt activities and educational materials
- Monitor student progress and document therapy sessions following district and state guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing staff training sessions as required
