Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in California
- Recent experience as a COTA, preferably in a school or pediatric environment
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEP) and associated documentation
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy interventions to students as outlined by supervising occupational therapists and student IEPs
- Assist with assessments, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to adapt classroom activities and support students’ participation
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Advocate for each student’s needs, ensuring therapy remains engaging, functional, and meaningful
