As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will engage with a diverse caseload, collaborating with school staff and overseeing your daily schedule, ensuring every student on your caseload receives the support they need throughout the semester.
This contract role runs from August 25th to December 18th, covering a leave position, but candidates who prefer to work through the entire school year (ending May 28th) are encouraged to express interest. You will be primarily supporting approximately 32 direct students, with a total service goal of around 800 minutes each week across several school sites. This is a full-time opportunity, typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with daily schedules coordinated under guidance at the start of the year.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Missouri
- Experience providing occupational therapy support in school settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confidence in managing schedules and caseloads independently with initial oversight
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to assigned students
- Develop session plans tailored to diverse student needs
- Maintain documentation and track student progress in compliance with school and state standards
- Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families
- Adapt to multiple school environments within the district
