School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Liberty, Missouri
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across multiple school sites in the Liberty, MO area as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). You'll be making a direct impact on learners at several elementary, middle, and high school campuses, helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom. This assignment begins August 25th and is slated to conclude December 18th, but candidates open to a full school year assignment (through May 28th) are also welcomed.
Experience the flexibility to create your own daily schedule, with the support and guidance provided especially at the start of the year. Your focus will be on delivering targeted therapy to around 32 students, totaling approximately 800 minutes of service per week. This full-time opportunity generally follows a regular school day, estimated at 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with 7.5 hours per day dedicated to serving a dynamic and diverse range of learners across several campuses.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Missouri
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to navigate multiple school sites
- Confident communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative mindset and proactive approach to leadership and scheduling
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and special education staff to support student goals
- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to caseload students as outlined in their plans
- Maintain detailed documentation on student progress
- Flexibly manage a schedule across assigned sites to ensure all learners are served weekly
