Step into a dynamic school-based contract role providing vital occupational therapy support to students across multiple school sites. This position begins August 25th and is currently set to cover a leave through December 18th, with potential consideration for candidates interested in the full school year (ending May 28th). You’ll collaborate closely with an experienced team and enjoy the autonomy to coordinate your own schedule, with initial guidance to ensure a smooth transition.
Your primary focus will be delivering direct care for approximately 32 students, logging about 800 minutes of service per week. Serving Oakwood Manor Elementary, North Kansas City High School, Gracemor Elementary, and Northgate Middle, you’ll have the flexibility to organize your day as long as each student receives weekly support.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure for Missouri
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload across multiple sites independently
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Organizational skills to meet documentation and scheduling requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to assigned students per IEP requirements
- Develop creative interventions to maximize student participation and progress
- Document therapy sessions and communicate updates with teachers and parents
- Collaborate with onsite staff and participate in school meetings as needed
- Adapt to changing settings and prioritize student needs across campuses
