In this role, you'll provide essential support as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), collaborating closely with licensed occupational therapists, teachers, and families to help students achieve their fullest potential. With a consistent schedule of 25 hours per week—5 hours per day, Monday through Friday—this position allows for work-life balance and dedicated time to focus on each student.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid COTA certification
- Previous experience in a pediatric or school-based environment strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to follow treatment plans with attention to detail
- Adaptability and creativity to engage students with diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP)-driven interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist
- Assist in developing and executing engaging activities to support fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills
- Document students’ progress and collaborate with the educational team regarding outcomes and adjustments to programming
- Support classroom participation and inclusion through targeted strategies and modifications
- Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to the school community
