Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential in California
- Prior experience in a school environment preferred, but motivated new grads are welcome to apply
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their IEPs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing, life skills, and adaptive behaviors for classroom success
- Collect data and contribute progress notes to support IEP reviews and planning
- Engage in collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families to create supportive environments for students
- Assist with classroom modifications and recommendations to promote student access and participation
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
