Take your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a new level in a dynamic, school-based setting. This full-time, contract role offers the opportunity to meaningfully impact students of all ages—ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade—across a district. Starting August 27, 2026, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting occupational therapy services for approximately 12 weeks as you cover an FMLA leave, with potential for extension.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Active COTA license/certification (CT Department of Public Health & NBCOT passed)
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to work effectively with students across a broad age spectrum and those with diverse disabilities
- Reliable transportation, as travel between schools within the district may be required
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver hands-on OT support as directed, fostering improved student engagement and development
- Accurately document student progress and maintain confidential records in accordance with district policies
- Communicate and collaborate with educational teams, teachers, and families to support student success
- Adapt approaches to accommodate student needs; participate in team meetings or IEPs when necessary
Working full-time within a district-wide assignment, you’ll experience variety and keep your clinical skills sharp. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as schedules and school assignments may vary. Virtual interviews make the process convenient and streamlined.
