Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of best practices and state guidelines for occupational therapy in educational environments
- Strong communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized therapy activities as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills within the classroom setting
- Document student progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist and school staff
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive therapeutic environment
- Participate in team meetings, student evaluations, and planning sessions as needed
