Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in West Hartford, CT

A school district near West Hartford, CT is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an engaging, full-time contract position beginning August 27, 2026. This assignment will provide coverage for a maternity leave lasting approximately 12 weeks, with a strong chance of extension. Occupational Therapists (OT) will also be considered, though preference is for COTA-credentialed professionals.
As a district-wide team member, you’ll deliver school-based occupational therapy services for students from Pre-K through 12th grade. You’ll collaborate closely with staff to implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and empower students with diverse educational and developmental needs. Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Connecticut COTA or OT license (DPH license/NBCOT exam passed)
- Previous school-based OT/COTA experience preferred
- Experience supporting diverse disability populations is highly valued
- Comfortable working district-wide and across various campuses
- Reliable transportation between sites
- Willingness to work under OT supervision if applying as a COTA
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate on student support teams and consult with educators and families
- Document progress, maintain records, and support data-driven interventions
- Adjust and implement therapeutic activities throughout the district as needed
Schedule:
- Full-time hours (approx. 7–7.5 hours/day; schedule to be confirmed)
