Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience working with children or in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions to diverse learning needs and age groups
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads and meeting deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver therapy sessions that foster students’ fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate OT goals into the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for student accommodations
- Monitor, document, and report progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Educate staff and parents on strategies and tools to support student success both in and out of school
