The role covers classrooms in two distinct sites, offering a stimulating variety of student needs and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
In this full-time assignment, you'll work with a caseload of approximately 49 students, ranging from preschoolers to 8th graders—primarily those with moderate cognitive impairments or Autism, including Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs and a small Early Childhood Special Education population. Resource room and classroom-based support ensure every day is unique and meaningful.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of best practices for supporting students with Autism and moderate cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with documentation and compliance standards (EdPlan system experience is a plus)
- Strong collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services tailored to student needs across preschool through middle school grades
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with the educational team
- Maintain clear, compliant documentation; manage Medicaid billing through EdPlan
- Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and families to support student goals
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to the educational team
