Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from PreK through 12th grade as an Occupational Therapist in an educational setting near Arden, NC. As a valued allied health professional, you will play an essential role in fostering student success, collaborating with educators, and promoting independence in school and home environments. The position offers a consistent, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, running from ASAP through June 8, 2027.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state
- Previous work with school-aged children (PreK–12th grade) highly preferred
- Background in school-based OT, home health OT, or healthcare OT settings
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement effective therapy interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and educational documentation practices
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ abilities and barriers using standardized assessments
- Develop, carry out, and adjust individualized intervention plans to help students achieve educational goals
- Provide direct therapy—in both individual and group settings—to address fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom routines and the home environment
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and team discussions to advocate for student needs
