- Strong understanding of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and educational-based therapy documentation
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to implement therapy goals
- Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
- Develop and deliver individualized therapy sessions according to students’ IEPs
- Create supportive materials and strategies for educators and families to foster student success
- Document progress, maintain accurate therapy records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Consult with classroom staff to adapt activities and environment to increase student engagement
- Stay current with best practices and regulations relevant to school-based occupational therapy
