Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist or an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- COTAs must have prior school-based experience and be comfortable delivering all direct services in-person
- Valid state licensure and credentials as required for practice in educational settings
- Ability and willingness to travel between schools (itinerant position)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a dynamic caseload
- OT supervision provided virtually to support COTAs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, in-person occupational therapy services to students with varying abilities, following district protocols
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on student goals and tailored interventions
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized therapy plans, focusing on student independence and academic achievement
- Complete evaluations, maintain thorough documentation, and monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Communicate with teachers, families, and support staff to maximize student outcomes and ensure continuity of care
