Situated near Aurora, IL, this opportunity allows you to work Monday through Friday, gaining valuable experience in both elementary and high school settings. With the benefit of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting you, you’ll be able to focus on delivering the best possible care and interventions for students.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in a school-based environment preferred
- Capable of managing a diverse caseload split between elementary and high school populations
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with a COTA and other educational staff
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans to improve their educational access and participation
- Provide direct occupational therapy services as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to generalize therapeutic strategies in the classroom
- Supervise and collaborate with the on-site COTA to ensure cohesive and productive service delivery
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams
