School Occupational Therapist | Vancouver, Washington
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a contract Occupational Therapist in a vibrant K-12 setting near Vancouver, WA. You'll collaborate with educators and families to empower a diverse group of approximately 55 students, helping them thrive academically and socially. This role runs from early January through mid-June, with a possibility for contract renewal for the following year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license with Educational Staff Associate (ESA) credential.
- School-based OT experience preferred, with knowledge of best practices for supporting K-12 students.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, providing both direct and consultative services.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with teachers, administrators, and families.
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting interventions for a range of disabilities.
- Organized, flexible, and compassionate approach to meeting each student’s unique needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students to identify fine motor, sensory, and functional needs in the school environment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor interventions and strategies designed to promote student access and participation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain IEPs and progress reports.
- Consult with teachers and parents to integrate OT strategies throughout the school day, both in classrooms and during special activities.
- Travel between schools in the area, supporting students in Vancouver, Woodland, and Camas as needed.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive educational environment.
This project offers a dynamic caseload and the chance to build meaningful connections with students and staff. Interviews are conducted quickly with a flexible, responsive process.
