Occupational Therapist School Setting in Bensalem, PA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing Occupational Therapy services to students from late elementary through high school. This position begins with part-time hours (1–2 days per week), with the exciting prospect of transitioning to full-time (Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm) in the fall as a current staff member goes out for maternity leave. The current caseload consists of 21 students (about 30 sessions per week), with the likelihood of expanding as new IEPs and caseload adjustments arise. This role offers the chance to collaborate within a supportive team, using a fully-prepared schedule and detailed documentation on short- and long-term student goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license
- Experience in school-based OT environments; exposure to home health, healthcare, or teletherapy OT is a plus
- Strong understanding of IEPs, documentation, and goal setting
- Ability to work with a diverse student population, tailoring interventions for a range of developmental needs
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group OT sessions, typically 1–2 times per week for each student
- Focus on goals encompassing self-help skills (buttoning, zippering, hygiene), life skills, pre-vocational skills, handwriting, and fine motor development
- Monitor student progress, using established notes and documentation frameworks
- Collaborate with educators, families, and IEP teams to provide holistic student support
- Adjust interventions as needed to align with shifting caseloads or new student needs
