Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist supporting K-12 learners with diverse needs in a dynamic school setting near Bridgeport, CT. This is a full-time contract opportunity with an assignment running from now through June 7, 2027. The position involves providing vital OT services across two campuses, with a caseload ranging between 15 and 35 students and a broad range of disabilities including Emotional Disturbance (ED), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Learning Disabilities (LD).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Connecticut (CT OT required)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Confidence in managing a varied caseload spanning K-12 students
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities such as ED, ASD, ADHD, ODD, and LD
- Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Capable of traveling between campuses as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students to determine functional abilities and therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to promote students’ participation in school activities and daily routines
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive support strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Provide training and resources to staff and families to nurture students’ success
