Step into a dynamic role supporting students’ success as an Occupational Therapist for a contract opportunity beginning in January and extending through the end of the school year. This position offers the unique chance to provide coverage for a maternity leave, working with a diverse caseload of approximately 40 elementary school students across three locations near Brookfield, WI. Focus on empowering young learners to achieve their educational goals, all while enjoying a varied, itinerant schedule that makes every day engaging and impactful.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in Wisconsin
- Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with elementary age children
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
- Ability to efficiently travel between multiple sites
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive environment for students of diverse backgrounds
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary students per their IEPs
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and track student progress
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals
- Provide support and training to ensure continuity of care during the maternity leave period
- Attend team meetings and contribute to evaluations and re-evaluations as needed
- Promote student independence, participation, and access to the educational environment
