School Occupational Therapist - Burnsville, Minnesota
Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Occupational Therapists eager to enrich the lives of students in a supportive school environment near Burnsville, MN. This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact, working with a manageable caseload in a collaborative academic setting.
There are three openings: two full-time roles and one long-term substitute position (for the first couple of months, with dates to be determined). All positions follow the academic calendar, starting September 8, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027. You’ll enjoy a stable schedule with 37.5 hours per week, all within one building, ensuring consistency and minimal travel as you work with students across several education centers.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure for Minnesota
- Experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with special education teams
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Commitment to fostering independence and functional skills among students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student needs and develop individualized treatment plans focused on school-based goals
- Deliver direct therapy services to a caseload of 20-40 students, many in small group settings (approximately four students at a time)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate students’ progress and inclusion
- Document interventions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with school standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights for student success
