School Occupational Therapist | Burnsville, Minnesota
A unique opportunity awaits an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking to make a positive impact in a specialized educational setting. This contract position involves supporting students who receive Setting IV special education services during a leave of absence coverage period. With a schedule from September 21st to January 4th (no work during winter break), this assignment offers a fulfilling way to contribute expertise over the course of the fall semester, with the potential for extension.
As part of this dynamic environment, you will provide therapy and support to students, collaborating with educators and support staff to address their unique needs and help them achieve their goals. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in school-based settings and is familiar with the requirements of serving students in specialized programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure and credentials to practice as a school-based Occupational Therapist
- Proven experience delivering OT services within educational settings, particularly with special education populations
- Ability to successfully complete agency onboarding and a district background check
- Previous successful placements and reference checks (if already credentialed)
- Reliable transportation for onsite work
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to students in Setting IV environments
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective supports
- Document services, progress, and outcomes according to district policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required
- Support compliance with IEPs and educational goals
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned with the school calendar, making it a great fit for those who value work-life balance.
