School Occupational Therapist - Chandler, Arizona

Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting students’ growth and independence in a friendly, collaborative environment. A full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to cover a 12-week maternity leave beginning in January. Your expertise will strengthen the educational journey for students at primarily elementary schools, with a small JR high caseload for variety. Schedules are flexible within the 7am-5pm window, with a total of 40 hours per week, giving you control over your work day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Arizona
- IVP Fingerprint clearance card
- Previous experience in school settings (elementary and/or junior high preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in pediatric OT, including therapeutic interventions and IEP contributions
- Confidence in supervising a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
What You’ll Do:
- Assess and support students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional abilities
- Provide direct therapy, consultation, and intervention planning within the school environment
- Supervise and mentor a COTA, overseeing caseload support and therapy goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to create inclusive learning spaces
- Monitor progress and maintain clear, timely documentation in line with district requirements
- Adapt interventions to fit diverse student needs at both elementary and junior high levels
