Occupational Therapist School Setting in Cicero, IL

An immediate opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to work onsite supporting two middle schools on a full-time contract basis. Those open to part-time work are also encouraged to apply, as there is flexibility to accommodate two part-time professionals. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. You’ll be collaborating with a skilled team of eight Occupational Therapists dedicated to providing exceptional support within a dynamic educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for practice in the state
- School-based OT experience is highly desirable
- Experience in providing evaluations for special education eligibility (initial and re-evaluations)
- Comfortable with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes
- Strong communication and consultation skills for working with educators, students, and families
- Team-oriented with the ability to work flexibly across multiple settings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver onsite occupational therapy services to middle school students as listed in IEPs
- Administer assessments to determine and re-assess eligibility for special education services
- Collaborate with building teams, educators, and other therapists to promote generalization of student skills across environments
- Support and advise on development and implementation of IEP and MTSS strategies
- Participate in student-focused meetings and bring valuable insights to determine needed supports
