School Occupational Therapist - Citrus Heights, California
Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist. With multiple positions available and a dynamic assignment running from July 1, 2026, to June 25, 2027, you will collaborate closely with educators and families to promote student development and independence. Your expertise helps students thrive in their daily routines, classroom tasks, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license issued by the state of California
- Experience in a school setting (K-12) or with pediatric populations is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Understanding of IEP documentation and special education laws is an asset
- Ability to work full-time: 35–40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students across K-12 grade levels, adapting interventions to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate student progress toward therapy goals
- Conduct thorough assessments of students’ motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills to guide intervention planning
- Provide culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy to support academic participation and promote life skills
- Educate teachers, support staff, and families on appropriate strategies and accommodations that foster student success
- Maintain timely and detailed documentation that meets compliance standards
