Occupational Therapist School Setting - Corona, CA
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity providing occupational therapy services within a vibrant school community. This specialized role offers the chance to support students aged 3-22 with a wide range of needs. Two positions are available: a full-time itinerant OT covering the extended school year, and a full-time maternity leave coverage projected to start in August and end in March.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license required
- Demonstrated experience working within California schools
- Expertise in administering the BOT-3 and Peabody assessments to students aged 3-22 with diverse disabilities
- Strong ability to use data to address family concerns and confidently recommend services
- Excellent self-management skills; ability to independently design and maintain your own flexible schedule aligned with district needs
- High likelihood of itinerant scheduling, traveling between campuses
- Previous experience with fluctuating, uncapped caseloads
- Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desired but not essential
- Must be comfortable working autonomously in the field; supervision and in-district support are minimal
- Open to providing services for both mild and severe K-12 caseloads
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy to support student participation in school activities
- Utilize assessment data to craft individualized recommendations and communicate findings to families and IEP teams
- Maintain accurate records and adapt plans in response to fluctuating caseloads
- Collaborate with educational staff, handling all aspects of scheduling and service delivery independently
