School Occupational Therapist - Corona, California
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of students from preschool through middle school. This position is designed to provide crucial occupational therapy coverage during a maternity leave, with an immediate start date extending through the end of the school year. This engaging role supports three campuses—two elementary and one middle school—with a manageable caseload of about 55 students and ongoing COTA support, allowing for collaborative and effective service delivery.
Your schedule will run from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, aligned with the academic calendar, giving you consistency and predictability in your workdays. As a valued contributor, you'll play a vital role in helping students achieve independence and success in their educational settings.
Qualifications and skills desired:
- Valid license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California
- Experience in educational or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong organizational and case management skills to oversee a diverse caseload
- Familiarity with sensory integration, fine/gross motor development, and adaptive strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, COTAs, and multidisciplinary team members
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services to students PreK–8
- Work closely with teachers and staff to provide classroom-based interventions
- Develop, review, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Supervise and partner with a COTA for effective therapy implementation
- Maintain detailed, timely documentation and progress reports
- Communicate empathetically and professionally with students, families, and team members
