Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students in the San Juan Capistrano area. This on-site position is ideal for passionate therapists eager to make a significant difference during a critical leave of absence. You’ll join a collaborative school community, working with elementary-aged students at Marblehead Elementary School. Immediate placement is available, with assignments running through April.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Active California Occupational Therapist license in good standing
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred
- Comfortable beginning mid-year and adapting quickly to new environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and students
- Willingness and ability to work full-time, five days per week (consideration for part-time may be given)
- Note: This position requires a licensed OT; applications from COTAs will not be considered
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to elementary school students as specified in IEPs
- Evaluate students’ motor, sensory, and functional skills to develop and execute individualized intervention plans
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation for compliance with district and state standards
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to integrate strategies and monitor progress
- Effectively manage and prioritize caseloads in a dynamic environment, especially as adjustments may occur following school board meetings
