Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is strongly preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of pediatric, sensory, and developmental interventions
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills to develop individualized treatment plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for empowering students with diverse needs
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluating students to determine their functional abilities and needs
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized intervention plans tailored to student goals
- Collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to maximize student participation and performance in academic and social settings
- Providing direct therapy services to students one-on-one or in small groups
- Maintaining thorough and timely documentation, progress reports, and required paperwork
- Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and supporting the special education team
- Offering staff training or classroom strategies as needed to support student needs
