Step into an impactful role supporting students across a diverse school district as an itinerant Occupational Therapist. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with children and young adults from Pre-K through transition age (up to 22), helping them achieve greater independence and success in their educational journeys. You’ll have the variety of moving between multiple schools within the district, collaborating with dedicated educators and families, and making a real difference each day.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Valid educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is required
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Completion of fingerprinting for credentialing
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy services aligned with IEP goals across assigned elementary, middle, and high school sites
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service teams for best student outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet compliance requirements
- Support students in accessing their curriculum and school environment, fostering skills for greater independence
- Adapt to the varying schedules and routines unique to each campus
