School Occupational Therapist - Detroit, Michigan

Embark on a rewarding opportunity working with students as a school-based occupational therapist in a contract role near Detroit, MI. This position involves supporting a caseload of 30-40 students across multiple sites, helping them develop key skills for academic and personal success.
Your expertise will make a significant impact within a diverse educational community. In this full-time, onsite role, you’ll join a dedicated team and collaborate closely with educators, families, and other specialists. The assignment runs from now through June 18, 2027, offering a long-term professional commitment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid state licensure to practice as an OT
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Ability to work independently (cannot offer COTA supervision)
- Strong communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to evidence-based, student-focused practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students across assigned locations
- Evaluate students and develop individualized intervention plans
- Document progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy goals into classrooms
- Communicate progress and strategies effectively with families
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
