School Occupational Therapist - Detroit, Michigan

You'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact on a caseload of 30-40 students, providing treatments and interventions that assist them in reaching their full academic and developmental potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution
- Active state licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
- School-based experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently—COTA supervision not available
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy programs for students in accordance with IEP goals
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support student development and participation in school activities
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt interventions as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional insight on student abilities and goals
- Consult with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate holistic care and support for students
