Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- COTAs must have prior experience in school-based settings
- Ability to provide all direct services in-person (no teletherapy)
- Comfortable supporting students with varying levels of need, from mild to severe
- Strong communication skills and adaptability for itinerant travel between sites
- Open to receiving or providing virtual OT supervision for qualified COTA candidates
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with special education teams, teachers, and support staff
- Perform assessments, document progress, and contribute to student goal planning
- Ensure compliance with state and district requirements for school-based therapy
- Provide compassionate, student-centered care to foster growth and independence
