Occupational Therapist School Setting - Elgin, IL

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential occupational therapy services in a contract role for the remainder of the school year. This position works with multiple campuses, allowing you to collaborate with seasoned school-based teams and contribute your expertise in a supportive educational setting. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues until June 9th (subject to change if no emergency days are used).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) license is required
- Experience or interest in school-based occupational therapy settings
- Ability to work efficiently across multiple campus locations and manage a flexible caseload
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, support staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to elementary-age students, supporting IEP goals and student growth
- Serve at multiple campuses on a proportionate schedule: Cloverdale Elementary (.3 FTE with a second OT), St. Isadore (.1 FTE for proportionate share service), and additional time as designated (.4 FTE)
- Assess students' functional abilities, plan interventions, and document progress according to district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing assessment results and intervention strategies
- Adapt interventions to meet diverse needs, fostering participation and independence for each student
- Liaise with school teams to promote inclusive practices and student success
