Elementary Certified Occupational Therapist School Setting in Escondido, CA
Step into a pivotal role supporting elementary students by providing occupational therapy services across several schools. This full-time contract position starts as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, offering the chance to profoundly impact young learners at a crucial stage in their development.
The position involves collaborating closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to address a diverse caseload of approximately 80 students. You’ll play a vital part in helping students achieve greater independence, develop fine motor skills, and participate more fully in classroom activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist (OT) certification and valid licensure required
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Prior expertise with elementary-aged students is highly valued
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential
- Ability to manage multiple school sites efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to craft and implement effective therapy plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy to meet students' IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure coordinated support
- Maintain detailed records of evaluations, progress notes, and IEP documentation
- Provide recommendations for classroom adaptations and sensory supports
