Make an immediate impact supporting students’ growth and independence as a contract occupational therapist in a dynamic school setting. This full-time position serves a diverse range of students ages 3 through 22, from PreK to adult transition, working across six school sites. You’ll manage a fluctuating caseload (typically 70-80 students) encompassing mild to severe needs, requiring an adaptable and proactive approach. Your expertise in assessment and consultation will be instrumental as you navigate varied environments, collaborating with teachers and families while primarily working independently in the field.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted California OT license
- Demonstrated experience in California schools
- Proficiency administering the BOT-3 and Peabody assessments with students aged 3-22 with multiple disabilities
- Strong data-driven communication, especially with families to support service recommendations and address parent concerns
- Flexible and confident working in an itinerant, independent role with minimal district support
- Familiarity with creating your own schedule based on district and student needs
- Ability to adapt to caseload demands and prioritize assessments/consultations as required
- Bilingual Spanish speakers highly desired, but not mandatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, consult, and provide direct OT services for students (PreK–22) with various disabilities
- Conduct evaluations using standardized tools and develop data-informed interventions
- Travel independently between school sites to deliver services and collaborate with staff
- Manage documentation, IEP participation, and timely reporting for fluctuating caseloads
- Address and communicate parent concerns effectively, tailoring recommendations to support student success
