School Occupational Therapist | Gig Harbor, Washington
Make a difference in students’ lives by providing essential occupational therapy services in an elementary school environment. This full-time contract assignment offers the opportunity to work closely with young learners, supporting their development throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near scenic Gig Harbor, WA, this position runs in-person from ASAP through June 11, 2027.
Your expertise will benefit a single elementary campus, focusing on a manageable caseload of 32 students. Collaborate with school staff, families, and students in a supportive setting committed to educational and therapeutic excellence.
Qualifications:
- Valid ESA and WA Occupational Therapist license (copies of licensure required)
- Must have current fingerprinting through OSPI
- Experience (or strong interest) in school-based occupational therapy
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy goals
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to assigned elementary-aged students
- Conduct evaluations, write and update reports, and contribute to IEPs
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to support classroom goals
- Communicate progress and strategies clearly to parents and caregivers
- Adapt interventions for classroom and individual needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and regulatory requirements
