Occupational Therapist School Setting in Glastonbury, CT
Step into an engaging part-time contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational environment for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is suited for either an Occupational Therapist or two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants seeking to make a difference by delivering direct services to students within elementary Autism program classrooms. Work closely with a caring team across three schools and positively impact the experience of approximately 50 students within five specialized classrooms.
This rewarding role spans 22.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the contract extending from as soon as possible through June 2027. Your expertise will be vital in supporting each student's development and enhancing their ability to succeed in a school setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience with school-based OT services or working with students with Autism, strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to evidence-based practices and inclusive support
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students in the elementary Autism program
- Assess individual needs and implement tailored interventions and activities
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of all services and progress reports
- Consult with teachers and staff to integrate recommendations into daily routines
- Attend team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning
