School Occupational Therapist - Grand Haven, Michigan

This full-time contract opportunity puts you at the heart of educational communities, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM. As a school-based professional, you'll provide essential services to a diverse caseload of around 49 students, ranging from preschoolers to 8th graders. Most students have moderate cognitive impairments or Autism, and you'll deliver interventions across regional programs, resource rooms, and for a select group in early childhood special education.
Your role will involve traveling between multiple classroom locations within the area. Comprehensive mileage reimbursement ensures your travel between sites is supported every step of the way. You'll benefit from a well-structured orientation and dedicated software training from knowledgeable administrative assistants while managing your documentation and Medicaid billing with user-friendly EdPlan systems. Collaborate daily with a dedicated team of teachers and specialists, all united in their goal of student achievement.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the state
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with supporting students with Autism and moderate cognitive impairments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel between school sites during the workday
- Comfortable with documentation and billing software (training provided)
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct therapy services to students as per IEPs
- Collaborating with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other therapy providers
- Supporting student progress in both group and one-on-one settings
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation in EdPlan
- Engaging in team meetings and contributing to student support plans
