Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Michigan occupational therapist license (required)
- Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Adaptability working with diverse age groups: elementary, middle, and high school
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for partnering with educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and participate in multidisciplinary evaluations
- Develop and deliver customized therapy plans that align with students’ education goals
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to integrate therapy strategies in the classroom
- Maintain clear records including progress reports, treatment notes, and compliance documentation
- Provide guidance and training for staff and families supporting student development
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and team planning sessions
- Advocate for student needs while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
